Enugu Rangers have confirmed the appointment of Christian Chukwu as their new head.
The 66-year-old who captained and handled the Flying Antelopes at different times will oversee activities of the club – after governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi sanctioned his choice as Chief Executive Officer and General Manager.
According to reports, Ozor Chibuzo’s board was shown the exit door following the reigning Nigeria Professional Football League champions’faulty start this season, having recorded one win, three draws and one defeat to place 12th after Week Five.
Chukwu begin his reign as club’s boss when the team face Ifeanyi Ubah FC in their next league outing.
Enugu Rangers begin their campaign in the 2017 Caf Champions League against Algeria’s JS Saoura in the preliminary round.
Coach Imama Amapakabo’s men will travel to Stade 20 Août 1955 for the first leg with the return leg holding at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium.
Should they scale this hurdle, they will face Egyptian giants, Zamalek in the first round. (goal.com)
