Vincent Enyeama said he was “so lucky” to have won a medal in all the Africa Cup of Nations he featured in.
The 34-year-old who boasts of 101 international caps helped the Super Eagles to third-place finishes in the 2004, 2006, 2010 Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, before leading the team to victory of South Africa 2013.
“Thanking God. So lucky to have gotten a medal in each of the AFCON tournaments that I played in. AFCON no easy,” Enyeama tweeted.
However, the OSC Lille star’s enviable Super Eagles career was brought to a brusque end after a fractured relationship with former Nigeria coach, Sunday Oliseh.
Enyeama had arrived at the national team training camp in Belgium late having had extra time off agreed following the death of his mother. On arrival, he discovered he had been stripped of the captaincy, which was handed to Ahmed Musa. (goal.com)
