llechukwu shocked at FCIU defeat

Mountain of Fire Miracles Ministries (MFM) FC head coach Fidelis llechukwu is shell-shocked after the side's massive defeat at FC IfeanyiUbah (FCIU).

The Olukoya Boys lost 0-4 to the Anambra Warriors in Wednesday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 2 clash at the Gabros International Stadium in Nnewi.

llechukwu said the new hands he featured for the clash failed woefully to justify their inclusion in the game.

“This is outright a shocking result as we never bargained for the heavy defeat at the hands of FC IfeanyiUbah.

“I’m really disappointed with the performance of the players I gave the nod to start in the clash.

“I made four, five changes from the squad that defeated Niger Tornadoes in Lagos on Sunday.

“The newcomers showed flashes in preseason matches but failed today (Wednesday) woefully to raise their game.

“They actually let me down when I expected them to rise to the occasion to justify their inclusion.

“Well, the outcome of this match is history, we will work hard to get it right in subsequent matches.

“I’m sure we will get it right, surely we will bounce back to winning ways against Lobi Stars.

“FC IfeanyiUbah had a great game and performed well; I think they deserved to win the encounter,” said llechukwu to supersport.com.

MFM FC will play host to Lobi Stars in Sunday’s NPFL matchday 3 clash at the Agege Township Stadium in Lagos. (supersport.com)
