Enyimba attacking midfielder, Ikechukwu Ibenegbu has said assuredly that his side will be champions at the end of the 2016/17 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The People’s Elephant were dethroned as champions by oriental neighbours, Enugu Rangers in the immediate past top-flight.
Ibenegbu said his side have done a lot of work in the preseason to once again contest the NPFL podium dance.
“Enyimba will be champions again at the end of 2016/17 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
“That’s what we have been working on though quietly throughout the preseason period.
“Right now we have opted to allow our performance on the field of play to speak on our determination to reclaim the NPFL top prize.
“We have prepared adequately for the upcoming top-flight, we are almost 95% ready.
“In the next few days we will hit the 100% readiness mark but as it’s at the moment we are quite ready for the opening match against Sunshine Stars.
“Our programme is to take one match at a time so right now the focus is on victory against Sunshine Stars then we take it up from there in other matches,” said the former Heartland and Warri Wolves goal poacher to supersport.com.
