Ghana to train in Accra before camp in UAE

By Daily Sports on December 28, 2016

Ghana have confirmed that they will train in Accra until the New Year before departing for a pre-Africa Cup of Nations camp in the United Arab Emirates.

The Black Stars, led by coach Avram Grant, will train locally at the St Thomas Aquinas School Park in Accra from December 28 to January 1.

The park is one of the best training facilities in Ghana and was constructed ahead of the country’s hosting of the 2008 AFCON.

From January 2 to 13 the team will camp in the UAE as the final preparation for their participation in the continental finals in Gabon.

Ghana also trained in the Gulf country ahead of their 2-0 defeat to Egypt in a 2018 World Cup qualifier last month.

The Black Stars will play in Group at the 2017 AFCON, facing Uganda in their opening match on January 17, followed by clashes against Mali and Egypt on January 21 and 25 respectively.
