Wikki Tourists striker Victor Yakubu says his side are satisfied with the outcome of the clash against the Nigerian champions, Enugu Rangers.
The Bauchi-based side were held to a goalless draw by the Flying Antelopes in Friday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Super 4 matchday 2 clash at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
Yakubu said the clash was the most feared by his side in the NPFL Super 4 given the pedigree of the opposition in the domestic football scene.
“I must confess to you that everybody in Wikki Tourists is quite happy with the goalless draw against Enugu Rangers.
“Enugu Rangers happened to be the side we feared most and a clash we rightly viewed would singularly decide our fate to win the NPFL Super 4 title.
“Rangers proved us right as they gave us a good fight and challenged for the three points at stake.
“Previous encounters in the league with Enugu Rangers have always been difficult for us to handle.
“Right now our chance of becoming the winners at the end of the day is brighter with the barren draw.
“We are confident of clearing the Rivers United hurdle on Sunday.
“A good result against Rivers United will put us on solid footing to claim the NPFL Super 4 title while we hope that Enugu Rangers will falter against FC IfeanyiUbah.
“I can comfortably say that our hope to win the Super 4 title is within a touching distance,” said Yakubu to supersport.com.
Wikki Tourists still trail leaders Enugu Rangers on the log though even though they are both on four points (Wikki have an inferior goals record)
