AWCON final: Dalung heads Nigerian delegation to cheer Falcons

By Daily Sports on December 3, 2016

Determined to support the Super Falcons to win the 10th African Women Cup of Nations (AWCON), a strong Nigerian Government Delegation led by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, and the President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Melvin Pinnick, is headed to Cameroon.

The Falcons will tackle the Indomitable Lionesses in epic final match of the competition at the Ahmadu Ahidjo Omnisport, Yaoundé tomorrow.

Others in the strong delegation are some NFF Executive Board members, top management staff and football officials.

It was gathered that the Sports minister is leading the delegation because of the high regards he has for the Falcons.

It was learnt that he will deliver the Goodwill Message from President Muhammadu Buhari before the Falcons will take to the field on Saturday, even as the President has urged the Falcons to retain the trophy they won in Namibia two years ago.

The arrival of the Nigerian delegation in Cameroon is most likely to spur the girls to go all out to defeat thier Cameroonian rivals. (NAN)
