Trabzonspor’s Ogenyi Onazi has conceded that there is still a long way to go for Nigeria to qualify for the 2018 World Cup, despite winning both of their opening qualifying games.
The midfielder was on parade as the Super Eagles romped to an emphatic 3-1 victory over Algeria on Saturday to ensure his side took maximum points from their first two fixtures.
However, he refused to get carried away over his hopes for the campaign despite being elated by the display of his team.
“Thanks to all our great fans God bless you all, we keep praying as we still have a long way to go in the campaign,” Onazi tweeted.
Gernot Rohr’s men top Group B with six points, four ahead of second placed Cameroon with two points, while Algeria and Zambia share one point.
Nigeria host the Indomitable Lions in their next game on August 28, 2017 with the three-time hoping to make it three win at a stress. (goal.com)
