Promotion to NPFL is in our hands - ABS skipper

By Daily Sports on October 31, 2016

Skipper of ABS FC Chinedu Ajana has said promotion to the Nigeria premier league is in their hands when they face Gateway FC today in a final NNL clash in Ilorin.

ABS beat J.Atete 2-1 to conclude an abandoned match in Abuja in midweek to now move to 21 points, same as fellow rivals, Gateway and Crown FC.

Ajana said they are more driven to win in front of their fans today in Ilorin.

“We can't not afford to throw away our big chance to win promotion. A victory for us will see us through to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL),” he said.

“We have worked hard to get to this point and our last match at home is really the decider.

“Gateway should forget about the promotion, we are more desperate than them in terms of promotion to NPFL.”

He added: "We are ready for the fight. I know it will come easy. And we are motivated ahead of this fight.

"I want to thank our general manager Alloy Chukwuemeka, who has vast experience in the game for his endless support to the team, he has always motivated us.

"And that is why I am not surprised that we are very close to gaining promotion to the Nigeria elite league.” (mtnfootball.com)
