Ghana attacker Andre Ayew has returned to full training at his Premier League West Ham United.
The Black Stars player has been sidelined since picking up a serious thigh injury on his debut for the club back in August.
It was initially feared that the 26-year-old would be out of action until the New Year, but when he and the club opted against the prospect of surgery, his expected return was brought forward to late November/early December.
Yet the Ghanaian’s recovery appears to be well ahead of schedule, as he returned to full training with the rest of West Ham United’s first-team squad on Wednesday.
The attacker is not expected to be considered for the Hammers’ upcoming matches against Sunderland, Chelsea and Everton before the end of the month, but their home clash against Stoke City on November 5 could be a realistic target for return.
News that Ayew is back in full training will come as a great relief to Ghana and coach Avram Grant, but it remains to be seen whether they will risk calling the player up for the 2018 World Cup qualifier away to Egypt on November 13. (mtnfootball.com)
