Emenike bemoans Turkish referees’ decisions

Nigeria international Emmanuel Emenike feels he deserves more penalties in the Turkish Super Lig and has criticised the referees for failing to award penalties whenever he's been fouled in the penalty area.

Emenike who spent last season on loan with Al Ain and West Ham, complained that he has been fouled six times within the penalty area in the league and no penalty call has been given in his favour.

The 29-year old attacker who was in action for Dick Advocaat's men against Alanyaspor was unable to increase his goal tally from two as he was replaced by Aatif Chahechouhe in the hour-mark.

Emenike who is displeased with the referees decision took social media to ask if he has done anything to deserve the unfair decisions of the Turkish referees.

"This is the 6th penalty I have gotten in Turkish lig not one has been given, did I do anything to the referees in super lig," Emenike tweeted. (goal.com)

FA contact Mourinho over ref comments

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been contacted by the Football Association after saying it would be "difficult" for Anthony Taylor to referee Monday's game at Liverpool.

Mourinho said appointing Taylor for the game had put "pressure" on the Manchester-based official.

Managers are not supposed to speak about referees prior to matches.

The Portuguese, 53, has until Friday to offer a response, which will then be considered by the FA.

Former referee Howard Webb told BBC Radio 5 live that Mourinho should be "taken to task" by the FA.

"It's one thing someone from Manchester or Liverpool taking to social media, a fan commenting, but for a coach to do this when he knows the rules then there should be some action taken against him," added Webb.

"Focusing the attention on a referee is simply mind games and trying to gain an advantage."
