Diego Maradona has revealed that he prefers Barcelona defender Gerard Pique to his Real Madrid rival Sergio Ramos.
Maradona claims Pique is superior in possession of the ball, giving him an edge over Ramos.
The Spain duo have established themselves as their country’s first-choice centre-backs in recent years, partnering each other during their successful Euro 2012 campaign.
They have also excelled at club level and have both won La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League on multiple occasions.
“For me, Sergio Ramos isn’t a crack,” Maradona told Marca. “Pique’s a step above him. He dominates the ball more, brings it out from the back. (NAN)
