Song comes out of coma

Media reports reveal that former Cameroon defender, Rigobert Song has regained consciousness and is responding.

The Indomitable Lions legend is out of danger according to Cameroon’s Public Health Minister Andre Mama Fouda, as SportsTalkAfrica website reports.

Fouda says Song has recovered following a stroke he suffered on Sunday at his home in Yaounde.

However, it is now reported that he is out of critical danger, breathing by himself and has been flown to Paris, France for further treatment.

“He leaves conscious. His life is no longer in danger, but he is not out of the woods yet. We hope he gets well soon and comes back in full form, as we know him to be,” said Andre Mama Fouda.

Hailing him as a true lion, the Cameroon Football Association (Fecafoot) has also confirmed that Song, who has been working as the country’s A-team coach, was moved to a new hospital on Tuesday night.

“Victim of a stroke, Rigo Song, Lions A coach, was evacuated this evening. Swift recovery to you, the Lion,” reads a tweet. (supersport.com)
