Head coach Kennedy Boboye insists Akwa United’s defeat to Enyimba will have no impact on the title race.

The Promise Keepers were beaten 1-0 by the Aba Elephants in one of the Nigeria professional football league match day fixtures on Wednesday.

The defeat left the defending Champions in 8th on the log and 7 points behind the joint leaders Rivers United and Remo Stars.

“We are still in the race,”, He told the media in Aba on Wednesday, and insists they are still in the race.

“If you are following, last season, Akwa United started like this and they came from behind and won the title. So we are very much in the race”

On the overall performance of his team, against the Finidi George’s team, the former Plateau United and Lobi Stars boss, said, they were unlucky not to pick a point.

“I’m impressed with the players, we were unlucky not to pick a point today, especially with the goal we gave away.” He concluded. (Brilla)
