Onazi leads 7 others to Eagles’ camp in Abuja

By Daily Sports on October 4, 2016

Turkey-based midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has led seven other players who have so far reported to the Super Eagles training camp in Abuja ahead of Sunday’s World Cup clash in Zambia.

The others as at 8pm Nigerian time Monday are Carl Ikeme, Elderson Echiejile, Musa Mohammed, Uche Agbo as well as Emmanuel Daniel, Chisom Egbuchulam and Ikechukwu Ezenwa, who play in the domestic league.

Granada CF midfielder-turned-defender Agbo is honouring his first-ever invitation to the Eagles after he featured at the 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup in Turkey.

Rangers striker Bobby Clement, who was handed a late call-up before he opted out due to an injury he picked up on Sunday, was also at the Bolton White Hotel to inform coach Gernot Rohr of his injury setback.

He has since been replaced by clubmate Egbuchulam.

Rohr has named a 23-man squad for the match, but has been forced to make three changes because of injury.

Chelsea loanee Kenneth Omeruo has replaced injured Mainz 05 defender Leon Balogun, while Nigeria league stars Godwin Obaje and Egbuchulam came in for injured Premier League stars Isaac Success and Victor Moses. (mtnfootball.com)
