El-Kanemi Warriors say ready for Coal City Battle

By Daily Sports on October 2, 2016

El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri, who stand between hosts Rangers International and the 2016 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title, have declared their readiness for today’s battle at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in the Coal City of Enugu. Players and officials of the Borno State-owned team arrived Enugu on Friday ahead the week 38 showdown, with the team’s Media Manager Prince Anthony Obaseki declaring to Daily Sports that the players and officials are in high spirits ahead of the epic game.

“You see, we always travel two days before any of our away matches. We are in to Enugu for real business. Rangers is a good side and we have respect for each over,” he said.

Obaseki added that the match is their last game of the season “and so our fans are coming to give us support. The boys will not give any room for laxity, so we will play as if our survival depends on this game. We are going to play our normal game. The players have been fully motivated and are in high spirits.”

Meanwhile, the team’s leading goal scorer Ibrahim Mustapha has promised to score today against the Flying Antelopes.

“I am going to score,” he declared. “I am not underrating Rangers; they are a good side but I am going there to score.”
