Rangers best club in Nigeria with or without trophy – Imama

By Daily Sports on October 2, 2016

Enugu Rangers are the best club in Nigeria this season even they do not win this year’s league championship on Sunday, according to coach Imama Amapakabo.

Without a major trophy in 32 years, ‘The Flying Antelopes’ will be crowned champions on Sunday in front of their fans in Enugu should they avoid defeat against El Kanemi Warriors.

“Rangers are the best team in Nigeria with or without the trophy,” stated Imama ahead of the final game of a very exciting league season.

“We have proved that you can play good football and still get results and this in turn has brought back the fans to the stadium.”

Coach Salisu Yusuf, who worked with Imama at Enyimba and now bosses him in the Super Eagles, will back ‘The Flying Antelopes’ to make history on Sunday.

“Rangers are highly motivated to be champions, they want to make history,” he remarked.

“It’s who will be the runners-up, I do not know.”

Imama said he does not expect closest rivals Rivers United to score not to even talk of posting a big win at Akwa United to keep the heat on his team on the final day.

“Rivers United have not scored a goal in their last away matches and I do not expect that to change now,” he predicted. (mtnfootball.com)
