Uganda President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has extended financial support of UGX 660 million to the preparations of the Russia 2018 World Cup qualifier away match against Ghana in Tamale scheduled for October 7.
This includes three months’ salary arrears to head coach Milutin Sredojevic.
The message was delivered by a telephone call from the head of state to the Fufa President this morning.
“The President has required me to deliver a message to the team and the coaches that they should represent their country to the pride of Ugandans and he is fully behind us.
"We are delighted as a federation to get direct assistance from the head of state, His Excellency Tower Museveni. It has come at a great time we are planning for the Ghana game. We are also happy we will be able to pay our dedicated coach Micho," Fufa president Moses Magogo told supersport.com. The Cranes qualified for Afcon 2017 after a 39-year wait.(supersport.com)
