Clement declares Rangers champions, beat Sunshine 2-0 in Enugu

By Daily Sports on September 19, 2016

Man of the match Bobby Clement has declared Rangers will end a 32-year wait by winning the Nigeria league title this season.

Big target man Clement netted a brace against Sunshine Stars for Rangers to regain the leadership of the league.

Rangers top the table with 57 points, a point ahead of Wikki Tourists, and will be away at Ikorodu United next weekend before they round up the season at home against El Kanemi Warriors.

He made good a pre-match boost that he will score twice against visiting Sunshine Stars.

“We will bring the trophy back to Enugu,” declared Clement.

“With hard work and God’s favour, we will be champions again.”

He admitted Sunshine Stars were difficult opponents on a rain and tension-soaked day in Enugu.

“It was a tough match, we expected it. But in the end, we scaled through with a victory,” said Clement, who dedicated his brace to his late father. (mtnfootball.com)
