Rivers name seven-man LOC for 2026 NDG

By Daily Sports Nigeria on February 4, 2026

The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Rivers State, Chris Green, will lead a seven-member Local Organising Committee to oversee the affairs of the Rivers State contingent to the 2026 Niger Delta Games in Edo 2026 State.

The LOC’s Director of Communications, Sammy Wejinya, in a statement on Tuesday said other members of the committee are Professor Ken Anugweje, Emma Ndah, Awele Salubi, Obia Inyengiyikabo and Emmanuel Jaja, who will serve as the secretary of the LOC.

Speaking after the inauguration, Chairman of the LOC Green charged other members of the committee to bring their wealth of experience to bear in ensuring that Team Rivers, the Rivers State contingent to the Games, win laurels and conduct themselves creditably well in Edo State.

“Only the best in their respective fields have been selected to serve in the LOC and I want to use this avenue to charge all the appointed members to bring their wealth of experience to bear as we open yet another vista in the chapter of sports in Rivers State,” he said.

The 2026 Niger Delta Games, sponsored by the Niger Delta Development Commission, holds in Benin City, the Edo State capital, from February 20 to 27.

The Games will feature 17 different sports at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City and other venues.
