The defensive solidity of the Super Eagles at the 2025 AFCON in Morocco has been acknowledged as defender Calvin Bassey and goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali made the Team of the Tournament bySofascore
There was no place for Super Eagles forwards Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen.
Fulham central defender Bassey was the giant in the heart of the Super Eagles as they finished third in the competition.
He was given an overall rating of 8.1 points and will be play on the left-side of a three-man defence that also has Moussa Niakghate of Senegal and Nayef Aguerd from Morocco.
Goalkeeper Nwabali was awarded the highest overall score of 9 points after he kept four clean sheets all in the knockout rounds of the AFCON.
The Dream Team formation is 3-4-2-1.
