Ex-Ivory Coast and Arsenal winger during the weekend was dismissed in a Chinese league match for a very dangerous play. He stamped severally on the balls of an opponent after losing possession.
The Mirror reports: “After losing possession, the opposing player ended up on the floor with the ball between his legs. The Ivorian then “attempts” to get the ball back with a couple of stamp looking kicks.
“The referee immediately blows up and, after a quick discussion with the linesman, shows Gervinho a red card.
“Even worse, Gervinho’s sending off came just four minutes after his side, Hebei CFFC, conceded. They went on to lose the game 1-0 – what a kick in the nuts.”
