Osimhen open to Bayern move

Victor Osimhen is open to a potential move to Bayern Munich, with reports indicating that the Nigerian forward is keen on joining the German champions should the opportunity arise, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

According to BILD, Osimhen is receptive to the idea of playing for Bayern and holds the club in high regard.

His personal ties to Germany are also believed to be a contributing factor, as he is currently in a relationship with a German national, which is understood to have strengthened his interest in a move to the Bundesliga.

“Osimhen is keen on joining Bayern. He is not opposed to a move to Bayern Munich and being in a relationship with a German and is understood to hold the record champions in high regard,” BILD reported.

Speculation surrounding Osimhen’s future intensified following rumours of a release clause in his present contract that would allow him to leave Galatasaray if one of ten preferred clubs made an approach, with Bayern Munich said to be among those listed.

Those reports emerged at the same time as claims that the striker had been actively offered to Bayern.

BILD reports that Osimhen was proposed to the Bavarian club through an intermediary.

“Victor Osimhen was recently offered to Bayern Munich,” BILD reported.

“The contact was said to have been made through an English intermediary, a detail that Sport Bild can confirm. Osimhen’s current club, Galatasaray Istanbul, are reportedly open to a sale in order to generate funds.”

Galatasaray are reportedly willing to consider selling the forward as part of efforts to raise money, despite Osimhen remaining a key figure in their squad.

While the player is open to a move to Bayern, any potential transfer would see him play a secondary role behind Harry Kane.

Bayern’s position is that Osimhen would only become a serious option if Kane were to leave the club, a scenario that is not expected to materialise until at least the summer of 2027.

BILD added that the German champions are currently well covered in attack, with Kane enjoying an outstanding run of form, scoring 30 goals in 25 competitive matches to regularly steer his side to victory.

Bayern also have Nicolas Jackson on loan from Chelsea for the remainder of the season as a reserve option. Although there is an option to make the deal permanent, it is considered unlikely that it will be taken up.

The 27-year-old is under contract with Galatasaray until the summer of 2029 and is valued at around €75m. He joined the Turkish club in the summer of 2024, initially on loan, before completing a permanent move from Napoli for the same fee.
