The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Team Ekiti edged past Team Lagos 19-18 in a thrilling basketball final.
Both teams showcased determination, skill, and composure, but the Ekiti squad demonstrated greater resilience to secure the gold in a closely contested match.
Reacting to the victory, State Basketball Coach Adetayo Awojinrin expressed pride in the players’ performance:
“I am happy God crowned our efforts with success. Despite the tough matches we faced during the group stage, we managed to defeat Lagos in the final.
“I am proud of the team and believe this success will inspire them to win more gold medals in the future,” Awojinrin said.
In Kungfu, Funbi Adedoyin earned bronze in the 48kg female category, with State Head Coach, Ronke Raji, praising her resilience against competitors from other states.
