Football pundit Chief Segun Odegbami has heaped praises to the Dream Team VI of Nigeria, for their performance at the on-going Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

In a telephone chat with Daily Sports, the Nigerian football legend, who was nicknamed Mathematical 7 during his playing days, stated that this is a true display of the Nigerian spirit.

According to Odegbami, “The Dream Team VI is impressive so far in the Olympics. In spite of the trauma they went through before getting to Rio, they have really done well, getting to the Semi-Finals of the football tournament. This goes to show the Nigerian Spirit; when you think everything is down for the team, they just rise up. It is commendable. The potential is always there in the Nigerian blood.”

Asked about Nigeria’s chances against Germany in the semi-finals, Odegbami said “I cannot tell the outcome of the match, but I am hopeful of a victory. I wish them well against Germany.”

Nigeria will be up against Germany in Sao Paulo on Wednesday, for a place in the gold-medal match.
