Galatasaray to meet Osimhen next week

By Daily Sports Nigeria on July 5, 2025

Galatasaray have scheduled a crucial meeting with Victor Osimhen next week as the Turkish champions push for a blockbuster move for the Nigerian striker from Napoli, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The Yellow-Reds will hold face-to-face talks with Osimhen either in Nigeria or Europe to determine if the 26-year-old is willing to join from the Serie A club, according to Hurriyet.

With his release clause no longer valid, the Turkish club will need to reopen negotiations with Napoli if Osimhen agrees to the move.

The Nigeria international is Galatasaray’s top target, and his decision will shape the club’s entire transfer strategy. If he signs, they will focus their remaining transfer budget on strengthening other areas. If not, funds allocated for him could go toward other positions.

Although Galatasaray are ready with financial backing, Osimhen remains hesitant and is reportedly waiting for a Premier League bid.

Osimhen was Serie A’s top scorer in the 2022/23 season and helped Napoli win their first league title in 33 years. He’s long been linked with Premier League sides like Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United, but no official offers have matched his expectations.

He spent last season on loan at the Istanbul club and scored 26 goals in 30 Super Lig matches as they claimed the top-flight crown and the domestic cup.

A final decision is expected by July 14. If Osimhen gives the green light, the Yellow-Reds will begin fresh talks with Napoli to finalise the transfer.
