Anambra state government, has said that celebrated Nigerian music icon, Chinedu Okoli, popularly known as Flavour N’abania, will headline the grand opening of the Solution Fun City scheduled for Saturday, June 28, 2025.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, following the 12th meeting of the Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) held at the Light House, Awka.
Flavour, an Anambra-born artist, will lead a star-studded lineup including Umu-Obiligbo and other top performers at the much-anticipated event, which is open to the general public.
The entertainment-filled ceremony is part of the Soludo administration’s broader effort to boost recreation, leisure, and tourism within the state.
At the same meeting, the Council approved the construction of a State Rehabilitation Centre at Nibo in Awka Capital Territory.
The centre is designed to offer a full range of support services to individuals recovering from mental health challenges, ensuring their complete rehabilitation before reintegration into their families and communities.
Reiterating its commitment to the Anambra Rebirth Programme, the Council emphasized the importance of restoring traditional values and social norms.
The blueprint of the programme, according to the Council, will tackle issues such as the revival of the Igbo Apprenticeship system (Igba Boi), the promotion of hard work and integrity, and the discouragement of societal vices such as the public flaunting of wealth and glorification of riches without verifiable means of livelihood.
In addition, the Council approved a number of key infrastructural projects to fast-track development across the state.
These include contracts for the construction and modelling of the State Rehabilitation Centre at Nibo, relocation and expansion of the Solution Hub and Park at Aroma Junction, and enhancement of the Ekwulobia Flyover with walkways and aesthetic features.
Other approvals included payments for additional works on the high court building complex in Awka, continued development of the Commissioners’ Quarters, and perimeter fencing and drainage installations at the Safari Park, Agulu Lake.
The Council reaffirmed its resolve to execute transformative projects and policies that align with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision for a smart, secure, and thriving Anambra.
