The management of Emzor Pharmaceutical Industries Limited has restated its support for sports development in Nigeria with the demonstration of commitment to the wellness of local talents and empowering young people to achieve their dreams.
The company’s senior executive management team, led by the Group Managing Director and Founder, Dr Stella Okoli, OON, stated this while fielding questions from journalists, during a media brand immersion and facility tour of Emzor’s $23m Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients manufacturing plant in Sagamu, Ogun State.
Speaking on behalf of the management, Emzor’s Head of Marketing and Strategy, Kunle Faloye, extolled Emzor’s long-term partnership with the Nigeria Football Federation as a strategic synergy to advance football talent development in Nigeria while promoting wellness among Nigerians.
“Emzor’s long-term partnership with the NFF has transitioned from just supporting the federation to being the wellness company for the Nigerian national teams,” he stated.
“Football is the next biggest passion point among Nigerians, after music. This is one of the reasons we put our investment in football. We are passionate about supporting the development of local talents, and helping young people fulfil their aspirations,” Faloye added.
According to Faloye, the partnership has further birthed brand endorsements on product advertisements for players like Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala, resulting in the sponsorship of give-back initiatives by the player.
“Emzor’s footprint and contribution to football development in Nigeria and Africa is a key component of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility policy to give back to society. Over the years, Emzor has supported female sports development and has been a major supporter of the national teams—the Super Eagles since 2014 and the Super Falcons since 2016.
“The company also supports initiatives and platforms by individual players to give back to society. One of them is the Asisat Oshoala Football Competition for Girls – a pet project of the record sixth-time CAF African Women’s Player of the Year. The company also hosted her in a grand homecoming reception to celebrate her rare feat in 2024.”
Faloye also said that the firm has a range of products for the recovery of athletes from aches and pains but has yet to expand into sports nutrition.
