Rivers Deputy Governor Denies Resignation Rumours, Pledges Support for Governor Fubara

The Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Prof. Ngozi Odu, has dismissed claims circulating on social media that she has resigned from office. In a statement released in Port Harcourt on Wednesday by her media aide, Owupele Benebo, Odu described the rumours as “false and misleading.”

The speculation began after a viral video suggested she had stepped down due to pressure from unnamed sources. However, she has made it clear that she remains in office and fully supports Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

“The Office of the Deputy Governor of Rivers State categorically debunks the false reports suggesting that Her Excellency, Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu, has resigned,” the statement said.

Odu reaffirmed her commitment to working alongside Governor Fubara and continuing to serve the people of Rivers State. She urged the public to disregard the baseless claims, stating that she has no intention of resigning.
