Saudi Pro League giants Al Nasr are said to have met with Bayer Leverkusen and Victor Boniface’s representative over a potential move for the Nigerian forward just as the German club are reportedly willing to sell the player for €50m, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Al Nasr are out to sign a new striker either this January or this summer to partner Cristiano Ronaldo as Anderson Talisca is said to be on his way to Fenerbahce.
Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano reported on Monday that the Saudi club’s delegation were in Germany to begin negotiations ahead of the transfer.
“Understand Al Nassr have started official talks for Victor Boniface as a new striker. Negotiations on with Bayer Leverkusen for the Nigerian striker to replace Talisca. The other candidate is Jhon Durán but Aston Villa still insist on keeping him at the club.”
After his initial post, he later shared another update about the progress of the negotiation.
“Understand Al Nassr delegation is now in Germany to negotiate with both the player side and Bayer Leverkusen. Talks are underway as revealed. Boniface and Jhon Durán are the two main names on Al Nassr list.”
With Aston Villa not keen on letting Duran, who is also a target for Real Madrid go, Al Nasr are likely to go all out to get the Nigerian’s signature but it remains to be seen what Bayer Leverkusen’s stance will be.
As previously reported by Get German Football News, Leverkusen are open to selling Boniface this month for a fee of around €50m.
The German champions bought the player from Union Saint-Gilloise in the summer of 2023 for a fee of around €20m plus add-ons, signing a contract at Leverkusen until 2028.
According to Sky Germany, he recently agreed to a one-year extension until 2029 and that will see him become one of the top earners at the club.
He was one of the key players to their double triumph last season, scoring 21 goals plus 10 assists in 34 games across all competitions.
This season, he has eight goals and one assist across 15 games.
The Nigerian has just recovered from a thigh injury which has kept him out since November 2024.
