“Wike Is Nothing; I’ll Deal With Him,” Asari Dokubo Declares

By Daily Sports Nigeria on January 16, 2025

Asari Dokubo has issued a stern warning to the former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, vowing to “catch and contain” him as he claims to have done with others in the past. In a fiery statement that has since sparked widespread reactions, Asari implied that his methods of handling political opponents are well known to the government.

The verbal clash between Asari Dokubo, a former militant leader, and Nyesom Wike, who now serves as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has been escalating. Dokubo’s remarks seem to hint at his longstanding influence and alleged connections within the corridors of power.

He stated:

“I will catch Wike and contain him like I have done to others. The government knows who I am and what I can do. He [Wike] should tread carefully.”

The context of this feud stems from earlier political disagreements and accusations exchanged between the two figures, both of whom have significant influence in the Niger Delta and beyond. Wike, known for his outspoken nature, has yet to officially respond to Asari’s latest outburst.

Observers believe that the tension might escalate further if left unchecked, as both individuals have strong political followings and a history of not backing down in confrontations. Meanwhile, calls for restraint and dialogue have begun to emerge from political leaders and stakeholders, urging the duo to prioritize peace and unity over personal grievances.
