PSG prepare Osimhen January bid

By Daily Sports Nigeria on December 6, 2024

Despite Galatasaray constantly insisting that Nigeria international, Victor Osimhen, will stay with the club until the end of the 2024/25 season, reports have emerged that Paris Saint-Germain are preparing a January transfer bid for the on-loan striker.

So far this season, the French giants’ performance have been underwhelming and aiming to bolster their squad ahead of the second half of the campaign.

Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan from Napoli last summer, has been in scintillating form in Turkey.

The Nigerian international has delivered consistently, contributing goals and assists that have propelled Galatasaray to the top of the Süper Lig and solidified their status as Europa League contenders.

The Parisian club reportedly tabled a €100m bid last year following the 25-year-old’s heroics in guiding Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33 years.

However, Napoli rejected the offer, prompting PSG to consider other options.

Last summer, PSG were again linked with Osimhen as they sought a replacement for Kylian Mbappé, who joined Real Madrid. Still, Napoli’s steep valuation deterred the French giants.

This season, PSG have struggled to find consistency, particularly in the Champions League.

Despite dominating Ligue 1, where they remain unbeaten after 13 games, the French side has managed just one win in five European outings, putting their knockout-stage hopes in jeopardy.

Reports from French journalist Daniel Riolo (via OjbSports) suggest that manager Luis Enrique sees Osimhen as the perfect reinforcement to reignite their campaign.

While PSG have the financial clout to make an enticing offer, Galatasaray remains determined to keep Osimhen until at least the end of the season.

The striker himself has publicly expressed his commitment to finishing the campaign in Istanbul.

The January transfer window promises high drama, with PSG likely to test Galatasaray’s resolve. Whether the allure of Paris and a substantial bid will change minds remains to be seen.
