The management of the Lakowe Lakes Golf and Country Club has confirmed the arrival of top professional golfers from West Africa for the 2024 “Escape to the Greens” teeing off on Friday (today) in Lagos.
Respected Ghanaian player Emos Korblah leads the foreign players’ delegation that also has compatriot Vincent Torgah.
Togolese veteran Agbvon Kosivi will lead golfers from Francophone countries as well.
Nigeria’s current rave of the moment, Francis Epe, and equally competitive rivals include Sunday Olapade, Okoko Godwin, Francis Christopher, Francis, Kamalu Bako, Gift Willy, Chukwudi Okor, and Mike Ubi.
Golf Manager at Lakowe Lakes, Femi Olagbenro, said the development of the course has in no small measure contributed to the growth of professional golf in the sub-region.
“The championship course that we are has added to the few options available to the golf course in its category. Lakowe Lakes Golf Course is known all over the region as the best golf facility and a facility that redefined the golf experience both as a professional sport and as tourism.”
This year, “Escape to the Green,” which combines the professional golf experience of Lakowe Classic with a family tourism package, offers a N20m purse for the golfers.
At the same time, amateur players’ prizes have been enriched with golf gifts and memorabilia.
