Chelsea to battle PSG for Osimhen

By Daily Sports Nigeria on February 26, 2024

Chelsea could gazump Paris Saint-Germain to sign Victor Osmihen this summer as the Napoli star prefers a move to Stamford Bridge.

According to journalist Emanuele Cammaroto (via Napoli Magazine), Chelsea are currently the frontrunners to land last season’s Serie A top goal scorer Victor Osimhen in the summer. The Blues will face competition from reigning Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain who have identified the forward as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe but the Nigerian reportedly prefers a move to Stamford Bridge.

The report further adds that Napoli are set to demand a transfer fee in the region of €130m (£110m) for their star striker, although both Chelsea and PSG are willing to shell out in excess of €100m to bring home the player.

The 25-year-old striker has scored nine goals in the ongoing season in 19 appearances across all competitions and provided three assists. It makes total sense for both Chelsea and PSG to be interested, as a result.

For now, the striker remains focused on the Italian club and will be next seen in action for them on Sunday against Cagliari in a Serie A clash.
