Naira Rain As Soludo Gifts N8m Cash Reward To Traders Sports Competition Winners

The government of Anambra has presented cheques totalling N8 million to winners of the five events featured in the just concluded Anambra Traders Sports Competition.

Patrick-Estate Onyedum, Chairman of Anambra State Sports Development Commission who presented the cheques to the beneficiaries at the conference hall of the Commission commended the traders for their massive participation.

Iron Dealers Market, Atani road got the highest reward of N3 million for coming tops in the football event followed by Nkwo Umunze Market and Ajasa Market which got N2 million and N1 million for finishing second and third places.

Ifeanyi Ononwa of Building materials market got a cash prize of N300,000 for winning the Draughts event ahead of Raphael Okoli of Plastic market, Ogbunike and Titus Daraebo from Electrical market, Obosi who got N200,000 and N100,000 each.

For Ncho, Esther Nzeka a nursing mother from Nkwo Umunze market got N300,000 for emerging best while Emeka Okoye who represented Eke Amawbia market and Arinze Nwafor Arinze from Ogbo Plastic,Odekpe got N200,000 and N100,000 each

Fidelis Anerobi Fidelis of AMSPDA, Nnewi, Emeka Obidika Emeka of Odera Market Awka and Kenechukwu Sixtus from Building Materials Ogbunike got N300, 000, N200,000 and N100,000 each for finishing first second and third places in Tennis.

Finally, in Table Tennis, Olie Onochie from New Tyre, Nkpor for N300,000 for emerging first while Nnaemeka Okoli from Nkwo Umunze market and Ifinwa Ndudi from AMSPDA Nnewi for N200,000 and N100,000 each.

Onyedum said Gov. Chukwuma Soludo was impressed with the performances of traders during the competition and promised to make the prizes more mouthwatering in subsequent editions.

He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of their rewards while thanking members of the organising committee for their dedication and commitment which saw the success of the event.

The Anambra Traders Sports Competition which featured 84 markets across the state started on Oct. 18 and ended on Dec. 8
