Breaking News: Deutsch Resigns As Abia Warriors Technical Adviser After Controversial Enyimba Match

By Obaseki Anthony on February 17, 2020

Technical Adviser of Abia Warriors FC, Coach Emmanuel Deutsche, has thrown in the towel following a controversial game between Abia Warriors FC against Enyimba FC that was later postponed to a closed-door contest on Monday morning, ending in a 1-4 victory to the Aba Giants at Okigwe Township Stadium in neighbouring Imo State.

The comprehensive victory saw Enyimba leapfrog from the red zone to the seventh position on the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) table.

Cameroon tactician Deutsche, who was very disappointed with the outcome of the Oriental derby, announced that he had no choice than to resign from the Umuahia club as things were not going as planned.

“I have to resign because things are not working out for me. I know the quality of players I have and I don’t accept failures,” he announced on Monday.

Daily Sports reports that the outspoken Deutsche resigned from Delta Force FC of Asaba in less than a season with the Ambassadors before returning to Abia Warriors, where he had 12 unbeaten runs in his first stay.
