Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Lagos chapter, has commended the initiative of BetWGB's OmoAdugbo to bridge the youth employment gap within the Nigerian society.
BetWGB, a leading sports betting in Nigeria, recently unveiled the OmAdugbo initiative as its own way of giving back to the society to reduce the unemployment rate in the country.
The company says under the ‘OmoAdugbo’ initiative, BetWGB will provide an outlet in each local government across the country to serve as the company’s contact office within the local area. This strategic move will not only create employment opportunities for the teeming youths across the country but also streamline the company’s operations in each of the regions.
According to the chairman of Lagos SWAN, Olatutu Oladunni, BetWGB has been known for people-oriented initiatives long before now, and it is a good development that the betting company has come out openly to join the drive to reduce the unemployment rate in Nigeria.
Oladunni recalled that BetWGB has been a supporter of football in Lagos State with the company's sponsorship of the annual Lagos FA Cup.
She commended the management of the BetWGB, adding that, like 'Oliver Twist', the Nigerian society and indeed the people of Lagos State, would be looking forward to more citizen-oriented programmes from the sports betting company.
She said that the Lagos SWAN will be ready to collaborate with the BetWGB in taking sports to the next level in the state.
