Former Flying Eagles midfielder, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, had the last laugh over his countryman Paul Onuachu in the Turkish Super Lig on Monday after he netted a stoppage-time winner for his club Hatayspor in their 3-2 home win over Trabzonspor on Monday, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Onuachu who joined Trabzonspor earlier this month on a season loan deal from English club Southampton posted a Man-of-The-Match display in the encounter as he made an assist and scored a goal to take his tally to two since arriving at the club.
The 29-year-old made an assist for Edin Visca’s opener in the 44th minute before he made it 2-0 in the 62nd minute.
However, Hatayspor fought back scoring two goals in four minutes with Dele-Bashiru playing a key role in his side’s second goal in the 88th minute.
Rigoberto Rivas halved the deficit for the home team before Didier Lamkel Ze made it 2-2 with two minutes left from regulation time.
In additional time, Dele-Bashiru scored a 97th-minute winner to secure his side their second league win of the season. The goal was his fourth in six league games this season.
The win moves Hatayspor to fourth in the Turkish Super Lig log with 10 points from six games while Trabzonspor remains sixth in the log one point adrift.
Onuachu will seek to add to his tally when he leads Trabzonspor in their next game against Pendikspor on Saturday just as Dele-Bashiru targets his fifth goal of the season.
Dele-Bashiru is joint-third in the top scorer’s chart in Turkey along with Aytac Kara of Kasimpasa and Edin Dzeko of Fenerbache.
