Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is on the verge of extending his contract with Napoli, and reports indicate that Napoli are keen to prevent any potential transfer to Juventus in the future, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The rivalry between Juve and Napoli is intense, often heightened when Juventus attempts to acquire Napoli’s most exceptional talents. Although Napoli has already seen a number of their players move to Juventus like Gonzalo Higuain and Arkadiusz Milik, they are resolute in their desire to prevent any further transfers to their rivals in black and white.
Napoli acknowledges the ever-present threat of Juventus eyeing the best players in Serie A and is keen on safeguarding Osimhen from such a scenario.
According to a report from Tuttomercatoweb, they are considering the inclusion of an “anti-Juve” clause within the new contract between Napoli and the Nigerian striker. This clause would be aimed at preventing or hindering any potential future move by Osimhen to Juventus, underlining Napoli’s commitment to keeping hold of their prized asset.
The Nigeria international also seems to be in love with the Neapolitans, so he would not want to spoil his reputation with them by moving to Juve.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is also contemplating the inclusion of a further two release clauses in Osimhen’s contract so he can hold on to his star man.
One clause would be applicable to European clubs like PSG, while the other, worth almost double, would specifically target Saudi Arabian clubs.
While Osimhen’s agent is advocating for a €110m release clause, Napoli is pushing for a higher figure of at least €150m.
Saudi side, Al-Hilal who signed Brazilian superstar Neymar has expressed a strong interest in signing Osimhen during the current transfer window. Reports suggest that they offered him an mega deal worth €1m net per week.
