Chelsea are close to reaching an agreement on personal terms with Crystal Palace star Michael Olise. The Blues’ summer transfer spending is set to continue this week after the club agreed a £115million deal to sign Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo.

The Ecuadorian midfielder has completed a medical ahead of his move to Stamford Bridge this morning – as per Sky Germany – with an announcement expected in the coming days. Romeo Lavia could follow Caicedo to Chelsea but Liverpool are attempting to hijack the deal after agreeing a £60million fee with Southampton.

The Belgian midfielder will have the final decision his next move – but reports have suggested Lavia still prefers a move to the Blues. Mauricio Pochettino is now looking to secure a move for Olise following Christopher Nkunku’s knee injury earlier this month.

Chelsea are close to agreeing personal terms with Olise and hope to secure a deal worth around £45m for the 21-year-old, according to the Evening Standard. Manchester City remain interested in the Frenchman – but are currently focused on agreeing a deal to sign West Ham star Lucas Paqueta.

Olise has impressed during his time with Palace and could be set for a move to one of the top Premier League clubs this summer. The 21-year-old can play on either wing, as well as operating as a no.10, which would be a crucial asset for Pochettino throughout the 2023/24 campaign.

Olise scored just two goals last term but provided an impressive return of 11 assists – with his current contract set to expire in 2026. The Chelsea boss wants to add a new goalkeeper and striker to his squad before the transfer window closes following Kepa Arrizabalaga’s loan move to Real Madrid.
