*EREME FC EMERGES RIVERS STATE CHAMPIONS IN THE LAST TEAM STANDINGG TRIALS*

Ereme Fc has emerged overall winner in the Rivers State Last Team Standing trials after defeating the Indigo Football Academy Boys in the finals by just a lone goal.

The trials which lasted 5 days took place from Monday 17th through Friday the 21st July 2023 at the Air Force Base Football Pitch in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital. 

The screening process was quite a rigorous one for the LAST TEAM STANDING crew in Port Harcourt as over 700 players which made up to 50 teams of 14 players each registered for the trials in the Garden City of Port Harcourt.

 

Ereme Fc played the final against a side of individual players who registered individually and put together as team for the first time under the watch of the comic/technical coach of the Nigerian Air Force Base team Skyhawk Pius Ocheme who added some comic relief to the trials with his style of communication and giving nicknames to his players.

The Last Team Standing Trials Port Harcourt was played on the green grass and a conducive environment of the Nigerian Air Force Base Football Field in Port Harcourt to end the trials in the South South region.

The scouting program which was transmitted live on satellite tv platforms, YouTube, Roots Sports/ RTM globally, experienced a unique set of determine young players from the goal line to the attacking department of the pitch.

The Final was played on July 21st 2023 on the day the Super Falcons held the Olympic Champions Canada to a goalless draw in the beginning of their quest at the ongoing Fifa Women World Cup in Australia/Newzeland.

Dignitaries that graced the events are the national ambassador Peterside Idah, Imama Amakpakabo, Head of Marketing Indomie in Port Harcourt and several Media houses based in Port Harcourt graced the event.

The trials also experienced the determined heart of young Nigerians who wish to pick a career in football and decided to take advantage of the trial to launch themselves to the world at a very young age of 13 years against the set age of 15 set aside for the trials. Some of the players that caught the eyes are Marvelous Edwin in jersey number 11 for Ereme FC a young talented attacking midfielder who helped his side find the only goal that made his team emerge winner after being held by heavy and determined much younger side team of individual registered players Indigo FA put under the watch of the NAF Skyhawk Coach.

The winning team Ereme FC will be merged together with the selected players seen during the trials to form a 28 man players squad that will eventually represent the state of Rivers in the National trials coming up in September/October in the first ever Football Reality TV Show that will be aired across the globe on TV.

The indomie brand came very handy as they gifted packs of Indomie noodles to both teams that played in the final of the Last Team Standing Trials Port Harcourt.

The Last Team Trials Train will be stopping in Abuja the Federal Capital in a couple of weeks to kick start the trials in the Northern region of Nigeria after concluding both South West and South South region of the Trials.
