No fewer than 90 wresters would be representing the country in the forthcoming Africa Wrestling Championships to be held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, President, Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF), Dr Daniel Igali has said.
Igali made the announcement in Yenagoa on Sunday at a press conference to update sports writers on the competition scheduled to hold from February 7 to February 11.
Igali also disclosed that about 27 Africa countries would be participating in the event, which is being sponsored by the Rivers State government, Zenith Bank and Access Bank.
He said, “we have 27 countries at the close of registration but we are about to get the other three countries that missed the deadline to make it 30 in all,” Igali said.
He expressed optimism that the national team would have an excellent performance at the event, adding that the participants in each category of the games were fully prepared.
