La Gazzetta dello Sport confirms Napoli star Victor Osimhen is PSG’s primary transfer target if Kylian Mbappé leaves this summer.
Mbappé has openly admitted that he’s planning to leave PSG on a free transfer at the end of his contract in June 2024, but the Ligue 1 giants want to sell him this summer if he doesn’t sign a new deal with the club.
Sunday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport confirms Osimhen will be PSG’s primary target if Mbappé leaves.
Napoli have already rejected a €100m bid from PSG and have set their asking price to €180m.
Mbappé’s summer sale will further strengthen PSG’s budget, potentially allowing them to meet Napoli’s asking price.
The Serie A champions still hope to extend with Osimhen beyond 2025 and are said to be on good terms with the striker’s agent Roberto Calenda.
According to the report, Lille forward Jonathan David is Napoli’s primary target if Osimhen leaves.
English Premier League giants, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are all said to have begun negotiations with Napoli over the signing of the Nigerian striker.
Meanwhile, according to Get Italy Football, Napoli have already opened talks to extend Osimhen’s contract and are keen on inserting a hefty €200m release clause in the new deal, news stated.
Osimhen is still in Nigeria after the Serie A champions generously granted him an extended holiday, allowing the striker to relish a well-deserved break before returning to pre-season training.
While the other Napoli players are set to convene at their pre-season training camp in Dimaro on Monday, July 10, where they will commence the first part of their summer schedule, Osimhen has been accorded additional time to enjoy the summer break.
This exclusion arises from his recent national team duties with the Nigeria national team, in which he participated on June 18 for the qualifying match against Sierra Leone for the next African Cup.
