Ndidi on Al Shabab radar

By Daily Sports Nigeria on June 21, 2023

Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is the subject of a transfer tussle between Saudi Arabian club Al Shabab and Scottish Premier League champions Celtic, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Ndidi is considering a move away from Leicester City this summer following the Foxes relegation from the Premier League and is not short of suitors.

Al Shabab are ready to submit an irresistible offer to tempt the defensive midfielder to dump European football for Asia.

According to Egyptian journalist Ahmed Ragab, six-time Saudi Premier League winners Al-Shabab have already made contact with Ndidi through his representatives.

Aside the financial leaps, the 26-year old may not be inclined towards moving out of Europe yet and so Celtic may well be his choice.

According to Come on Leicester, new Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers worked with the Nigerian midfielder at Leicester until his sack earlier in the year.

Leicester are believed to value Ndidi at £35m. That valuation may not be a worry for the wealthy Al Shabab, but Celtic may struggle to pay that fee.

Ndidi has a year left on his current contract with the Foxes, which will trigger the club into selling to avoid losing the lanky midfielder for free next summer.
