The Confederation of African Football has named Sudanese referee Mahmood Ismail as the centre referee for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match between Nigeria and Sierra Leone.
This was made known in a statement released by the Nigeria Football Federation communication department on Wednesday.
The Sudanese has officiated CAF competitions, issuing 24 yellow cards and no red cards.
Ismail will be joined by his compatriot Mohammed Ibrahim as assistant referee one and Djiboutian official Liban Ahmed as assistant referee two.
The fourth official as confirmed in the statement is Mohamed Guedi, also from Djibouti. Bakary Jammeh from Gambia will oversee the match as the match commissioner, while Kokou Djaoupe from Togo will be the referee assessor.
The Super Eagles battle the Leone Stars on match-day five of the AFCON qualifiers at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Stadium in Liberia on June 18.
The Eagles won the last encounter between the two sides 2-1 at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, on June 9, 2022.
A victory for Nigeria on Sunday will see the three-time African champions qualify for next year’s AFCON billed to hold in Ivory Coast.
According to the statement from the NFF, all the 23 players invited for the clash have arrived in camp.
The Eagles are currently second on the log after Guinea-Bissau secured a 1-0 win over Sao Tome and Principe on Thursday to move top of the table with 10 points.
