Tijani to replace Olayinka at Prague

By Daily Sports Nigeria on June 14, 2023

Following the departure of Nigerian striker Peter Olayinka, who left Czech Fortuna Liga side, Slavia Prague, at the end of last season, The Red and Whites are set to sign another Nigerian Muhamed Tijani from Baník Ostrava.

The Slavists have identified Tijani as a potential replacement for Olayinka, who spent five seasons at Slavia.

The 22-year-old Nigerian forward had a good season with Táborsko in the just-concluded Czech Fortuna Liga season, where he scored 12 goals in 36 appearances across all competitions

According to French media outlet Nouvelles Du Monde, the 22-year-old striker has completed his medicals at the Eden Stadium, as both clubs are in the final stage of negotiations to complete the transfer of the former U-20 striker.

“The transfer of striker Muhamed Tijani from Baník Ostrava to the Vršovice club is also underway,” Nouvelles Du Monde stated.

“Winger Peter Olayinka left Slavia after last season, heading to Crvene zvezda Belgrade after his contract expired. The Red and Whites are armed on the offensive. They have already brought the national team Mojmír Chytil from Olomouc.

“The 22-year-old Nigerian has already undergone a medical at Eden, and the two clubs are discussing further transfer details.”
