It looks like the god’s are angry with Abia State this time. It has been bad governance personified and fully unmasked in the last seven (7) years plus under Victor Okezie Ikpeazu. He is yet to tell Abians what he used the State share of back log oil money paid to Oil producing States by the Federal Government to do. The one accrued to us that ran into billions is still yet to be accounted for by Ikpeazu after Governor Nyesom Wike, his bosom friend blew open the payment last time which forced several Oil producing States in the Niger Delta to make public what was paid to them and how it was spent but Ikpeazu fringed unaware.
Now after the unfortunate demise of Professor Elezaar Uche Ikonne, the party last week Saturday nominated Chief of Staff to Ikpeazu Okechukwu Ahaiwe as the standard bearer of the ruling PDP. Now it is left for the electorates in the roundly backward State in all facets to decide; the choice is theirs choosing between going forward and remaining with all motion no movement since 1999 in a supposedly rich and prospering State. However, political pundits and observers in Abia politics posited that for PDP to retain power can safely be likened to a Carmel going through the eye of a needle.
It is not normal time in the country (Nigeria) today as things have totally gone astray. There is confusion everywhere. The polity is like a time bomb now waiting to happen. Make no mistake about it nobody has answer to it. Nigeria is currently floating. The citizens exactly got what they needed for betraying former President Jonathan. Now the entire country is on stand still.
The current back and forth movement can safely be referred to as all motion, no movement. Head or tail, APC government of deaf and dumb has plugged Nigeria into a state of no return except by God’s grace. Who will deliver the people? The polity is heavily hot! Every moment matters in today’s Nigeria. My take in all these has been put on the door steps of the common man. Truth is that every policy being pushed out in Nigeria is targeted on the downtrodden. From whichever angle you may be looking at it from, the masses are worst hit.
Trouble, bitterness, suffering, complain and anger are rising to high heavens. It is also instructive to note that all these have not gone without accusation and counter accusation amongst the ruling APC elites against President and the entire Presidency. Recall that APC Presidential candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu pointedly accused President Buhari of introducing hard economic policy to stop him from winning the election. He dared the President that all his anti-Tinubu measures won’t stop him from becoming Nigeria’s President elect come February 25. Such rantings from Bola Tinubu and his boys prompted Presidency to react and pronto Nasir El-Rufai was on hand to do his damage control by pacifying the President and rather shut himself on the foot by indicting the same Presidency.
While most close watchers are vividly pointing out that what is happening has been the brand of politics of Bola Tinubu diversionary aimed at whipping up sympathy and attention for himself. These analysts added that the current face-off with the powers that be in Aso Rock Villa visibly trending was misfired as it bounced back on him. In short, dead on arrival. These close watchers further believed vehemently that whatever mileage he and his advisers intended to achieve/cover politically failed flat. It is great to note that Nigerians have come to terms with the latest antics of Bola Tinubu and his faction of APC trying to blackmail President Buhari to do what is not the will of the larger Nigerian people. But one key mistake these comedians from Bola Tinubu loyalists do not know or take into account is that blackmailing or violence is never exclusive to them.
One thing is certain and that is Bola Tinubu faction of APC must be told in clearer and stronger terms that they cannot use all these back and forth to grab power as it is envisaging by all means. Political watchers are aware that no matter how these dissidents with APC engaging Presidency in war of intimidation/blackmail that it is his turn (Emilokan) and so the Presidency must pay him (Bola Tinubu) back. President Buhari we all knew is not one you can push around especially now it is in the public domain his vow to superintend a free, fair and transparent general election.
One expected APC to go to the field and tell Nigerians what it will do different from what they are doing now knowing that he, Bola Tinubu is the main actor of what has befallen Nigeria and Nigerians today instead of resorting to the blame game he and his cohorts have sadly resorted to which has presently heated the polity. What ought to be paramount before Tinubu and his supporters would have been how to explain to Nigerians the immediate and remotes causes and remedy of the untold hardship his party APC inflicted on the citizenry in the past seven (7) years plus now definitely not this diversion of attention strategy he and his mischievous lot have resorted to presently.
Take it or leave it, it is time up for anything APC. I think that no level of violence, tough talking to instill fears on the populace will earn them power this time even by hook or crook, Nigerians have seen their ears. Never again! APC has put everything in shambles in Nigeria.
We hope and trust that things will return to normalcy in the next dispensation. It has been hellish in this administration, Petrol and Naira scarcities, out of this planet high cost of living, all time high resurging insecurity and sundry all brought about by Bola Tinubu’s APC administration. No amount /level of deceitful propaganda even through the usage of National Assembly can ever help APC this time around.
Nigerians knew better now, no more empty promises, they are keenly watching this current trend and strategy employed by Bola Tinubu and his wolf crying deceitful co-travelers. Keep shooting hard till next week. Meanwhile, we wait!!
