Roberto Calenda, agent of Napoli and Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen has hinted that the Nigerian is happy at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium and has expressed his desire to continue making the fans happy by winning the Serie A title this season.
Osimhen bagged a brace, with Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, Amir Rrahmani, and Eljif Elmas also on target as Napoli dispatched Juventus 5-1 in a Serie A fixture on Friday.
The 24-year-old has been key role for Luciano Spalletti’s side this season, scoring 12 goals and providing four assists in 14 Serie A appearances this season.
Osimhen’s run of fine form has already attracted the attention of top clubs around Europe, with multiple Premier League sides all seriously keen on a move, but the Nigeria striker has remained focused on his game.
Speaking to Corriere dello Sport, Calenda said Osimhen was focused on the title race with Napoli and not considering an exit.
“Osimhen is fine, he is happy and perfectly integrated with the fans. At the stadium he is the first to party, to dance with the fans. His goal is to win with this team and give a dream to a city he loves. That is all there is to it.
“Osimhen is a natural talent, physically devastating, I think the key is consistency. He was penalised by injuries and now he can express his potential calmly.
“He is working well with the team, understanding and harmony are growing, and with Spalletti’s advice, he is constantly improving. He is maturing.”
Spalletti’s Napoli are on track to win their first Scudetto since the days of Diego Maradona. Napoli currently sit nine points clear of second place Milan and 10 points clear of Juventus, giving them a comfortable cushion heading into the second half of the season.
Commenting on Napoli’s chances of clinching the league title, the former Lille star is confident of the Parthenopeans winning the first league title since 1990.
“The road is too long, we must continue carrying out the coach’s instructions and I think at the end of the season we have a good chance,” Osimhen said.
