NFF reviews fee for 2023 Federation Cup

By Daily Sports Nigeria on January 11, 2023

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Executive Committee, yesterday, disclosed that the registration fee for clubs participating in this year’s Federation Cup competition has been reviewed downward.

The fee of N70,000 for male category and N50,000 for the female class of the club competition were cut to give more clubs opportunity to take part in the yearly tournament, according to the NFF’s Ag. Director of Competitions, Ruth David.

“The NFF Board opted to review the fees downwards to encourage more clubs to participate in this year’s competition in both the men and women categories.

“While the registration fees are down, the programme itself is unchanged from what was officially communicated to the football association in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

“Registration of clubs will hold over a fortnight between January 16 to 30, while submission of completed players’ forms for production of licenses will be done between January 31 and February 6, she told thenff.com.

She added: “The Federation Cup competition in the various states and the FCT has been scheduled to hold from February 18 to March 19, with the states and the FCT expected to submit the names of their two representatives in the national competition to the NFF by March 20.”

Meanwhile, dates for the playoff matches, the national draws and the different stages of the national competition, are expected to be determined in due course.
