The second edition of boxing championship King of The Ring holds December 20 at the Eko Club, Surulere, Lagos after a four-year hiatus, organisers of the event have said.
The maiden King of The Ring championship was held December 22, 2018 at the Landmark Event Centre, Lekki, Lagos with three title bouts and since then Monarch Events and Promotions has held several other big and small boxing events.
Ten bouts have been lined up for the fight night with the vacant World Boxing Organisation Africa Super Flyweight title at stake between England-based Pakistani Tasif Khan and Ghana’s Gabriel Laryea the headliner.
For the undercards, Nigeria’s UK-based Super Middleweight Ezra Arenyeka faces off against Frank Dodzi of Ghana, while in Light Heavyweight, Ghanaians Victor Beneth and Joseph Tetteh square off.
In the Super Lightweight clash, Temirzhan Baimolda of Kazakhstan clashes with Nigeria’s Waliu Arogundade, while unbeaten Youth Olympics silver medalist Adijat Gbadamosi (6-0-0) squares off against Taiye Kodjo in the Female Bantamweight contest.
The grudge fight between Agege-based duo Oluwasegun Mustapha and Hammed Ganiyu will also feature in the undercards and promises to be a nail-biting affair, as well as four other bouts.
